What is Security Deposit Insurance?
Rhino's Security Deposit Insurance product replaces cash security deposits with smart, affordable insurance so renters can maintain control of their cash. Instead of a large upfront cash security deposit, renters can sign up with Rhino for a low-cost policy that secures the home for the property owner in case of a covered loss, such as excessive damages or unpaid rent.
Rhino is available to eligible renters at any property that partners with us. Our application process takes just minutes and after receiving a Rhino invite through their property manager, it just takes minutes for renters to go through a simple application process.
Do I get my payments back at the end of the lease like a security deposit?
Renters who opt to pay a traditional cash security deposit may receive their deposit back at the end of their lease minus any deductions the property manager may withhold for damages or fees.
Renters who opt for the Security Deposit Insurance will not receive their premium payments back at the end of the lease. Rhino security deposit insurance replaces the need for a large security deposit and your payments are not refunded at the end of your lease. Rhino Security Deposit Insurance fulfills the same requirement as a cash deposit and is typically a lower-cost option designed to save more of your hard-earned cash during the move-in process. It is not a traditional security deposit.
